DOING SOMETHING NOT FOR YOU!

I am so upset at our county!!!!! I guess they have not seen the news and seen how bad our economy is doing. Perhaps lets just add non sense lights in the middle of I-95!!!!!!! Instead of these lights which i am extremely sure they cost the city a fortune, they would help out our community it would be SO much better. Thousands of homeless, people in foreclosure, families starving, and children crying of hunger right in our city but they don't do anything for that. Our programs are diminishing, funding for positive programs are all closing, but our wonderful county decides to add these lights at the entrance of I-95 to make it safe. HELLLLLLLOOOOO where have they been????? If i recall Miami has been established for years now and it seems people are doing fine without those lights!!!!! I understand it will be safe and less accidents but Miami drivers will always be Miami drivers so they will find accidents in other places. Not only is this upsetting for me to see the money thrown away on non-sense things but today i used it and ding ding ding number one stressors for people TRAFFIC was present!!!! The light is basically red, green, red, green by the time you read the word RED or GREEN thats how fast it changes.

So how about we all do something nice this weekend and do something for others!

Food for the thought....

A couple of days ago someone sent me this via email. I had previously read it but i just thought it was such a nice little story that i had to share it with everyone.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to
help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's
only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and
families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military
service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up,
he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he
could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods
where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity
and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans
played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young
lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view
of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the
man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine
this picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by .

Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his
minds eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive
words
.

Days, weeks and months passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only
to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died
peacefully in his sleep.

She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be
moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and
after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his
first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased
roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.'

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own
situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that
money can't buy.

'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present .'

The origin of this letter is unknown.

I wish everyone great blessings!

Wonderful days....

I love this time of year! It is cool outside but we still have that wonderful South Florida weather. I feel like its spring out. Being that the weather has been perfect, every weekend we have woken up to go and enjoy outdoor activities. Hey! I have to take advantage of the nice days and I am not stressing school for now. Last weekend BF and I met up with a couple of friends at Taste of the Grove it was so awesome and we got to enjoy delicious food and nice jazz. It was so much fun! Until the boys all decided that we should all start bike riding on the weekends. It sounded great but the biggest challenge yet was i had NO clue on how to ride one!!!!!! So mission began!!!! BF decided to buy me a bike and off we go to learn. After a couple of hours and struggling, BF decided to sit down and rest before continuing my classes... But what does Naydee do nope not rest instead I grab the bike and push myself, all of a sudden from one second to the next i am riding bike!!!! So excited ....

This weekend BF had his appointment for his Christmas gift. I gave him the ultimate driving experience ever! TO DRIVE A RACE CAR FOR A DAY!! We had a blast!!!

Our drive to the speedway...

BF all dressed up and ready to go...

Getting into the Indy Race Car....

Driving the Race Car.....

Since we were half way to key largo we decided to eat dinner by Islamorado, FL unfortunately the riding adventure took longer than expected and we missed the Sunset at the restaurant. So we had to satisfy ourselves seeing it in the car.

THE END!!!!

A month later....

.... I finally have a chance to come back into the blogging world. My holidays were fun and RELAXING to say the least. Yesterday i began my hectic days of school again even though classes do not begin till next week my wonderful internship has begun. On a good note final semester of my bachelor career!!!!!!!!! Before we move forward lets just stop and think of all the wonderful things that happen during my break. I got to relax and sit at home doing absolutely nothing. I was able to decorate the house, decorate the gifts and finally go on a baking spree which I love and haven't been able to do so. I was even able to work for a FULL 6 hours back at my old job! HEY IT'S MONEY!!!! On Christmas eve BF and I went over to his dad's house and we indulged in the wonderful Cuban Christmas meal. On Christmas day woke up at dawn to some fresh brewed coffee and delicious warm croissant at BF mommy's house, opened some gifts there and off we went to my grandmother/aunt's house for more presents, afterward parents house to open our last set of presents eat lunch and relax before our 4 PM flight to Peru. Never would i have imagined how beautiful Peru really is until i saw it with my own eyes. Had an awesome time with BF and his family. (LIKE ALWAYS, LOVE THEM!) But fun always comes to an end a week after we arrived back in Miami to relax for the weekend and watch the dolphins loose :( lastly yesterday BF and I had our first 2009 dinner and a movie date. He took me to go see Marley and Me which i was wanting to go see really bad after i read the book, shed some tears but very lovely movie and had yummy sushi! Now to focus on a brand new year of fun and new experiences upon us. As for my new years resolution i have decided to spend less money which i have already broken when spending money on purchasing a partial plan for the Miami Heat for BF and I.

Peace and Quiet

WOW!!!! Well since my last inspiration i wrote about the chaotic weeks that i had coming and all i have to say now is that I was able to conquer everything!!!! Well there was only one thing I was not able to do which we (bf & I ) decided we had to place our house search on hold till i went on winter break other then that i was able to finish all my papers and exams; doesn't mean i finished ALL my papers and exams just the ones due up to now still missing a final exam, 3 discussions, 1 quiz, and a paper. I was also able to go to my cousins wonderful wedding and have family quality time with them at the Keys. It was great! Following weekend my brothers wonderful wedding which may i add was beautiful!!! Unfortunately my dear bf forgot the camera so no pictures meaning another task for ME get pictures from everyone else. The following week we concluded with the big event of Thanksgiving which was delicious, and fun.I can go into details about everything but i will be writing here for a good week. So i will refrain from everyone getting bored. After all those things i decided that the best way to use my weekend off from school and homework was to spend some quality time with my brother, sister-in-law and bf which ended up being the best weekend ever! I was very happy that i was able to spend time with all of them and go shopping, bowling, dinners, and do guitar hero nights plus movie night. I can't wait to do all this again. Oh yea lets not forget bf & i were able to complete the whole Christmas gift list and finalize our Christmas vacation. YUP Chris' dad, step-mom and brother were all nice enough to buy us tickets to join them in Peru for the holidays. So off we go to Peru on Christmas day!!! How exciting!!!!!!

The way I see it .... #296

Well today was a very productive day... You know sometimes you manage to put your alarm clock for a certain time but yet you love snoozing it, and going back to sleep.... Well that was me! I knew i had 20 million things to do and should start my day early but impossible! Went right back to sleep... FINALLY i decided to stop being so lazy and realized i had to do things so i got out of bed and right to my duties not until i realized i only had an hour till my appointment with the Realtor. Don't know how i manged to get ready, wake up the bf, call the Realtor, mapquest the address, get all the papers ready, drop off a car for an oil change, get Starbucks and get there with 15 minutes to spare. TALK ABOUT FLYING THROUGH EVERYTHING.

While drinking my wonderful coffee i saw that the cup had a little saying and decided to read it... And ding ding ding i got another inspiration!! The bold letters said the way i see it #296... i really haven't noticed the starbucks cups if they all have the same saying but i thought it was wonderful.

"By the time excutives get married, take on a mortgage, raise kids, cope with the crabgrass, climb the corporate ladder, do their best to manage career pressures, build their net worth and get into their 40's, they've lost touch with what they believe in and care about most deeply" By Allan Cox CEO Coach & Author of Your inner CEO Unleash the executive within
